My thesis is an artistic study of memories, memory, and memory trace. In my thesis, I observe the rhetoric of visual communication and presentation forms of art in the context of the image. My thesis is based on the photos taken on Crete during the years 1999-2005. I used these photos as a restoration tool of memories. I made paintings out of these memories and investigated ways of visual storytelling. My final thesis consists of a written part and artistic projects, paintings. The written part is divided into three parts: 1) the background information on research, which I have
investigated before the artistic contribution to the painting process began, 2) working diary, which is a process description of the painting, 3) the research, where I studied the basic principles of perception and the conventional character of interpretation of image.
