Sketches from Fabric

'Sketches from Fabric' is a concept of material design for the garment industry. The first and closest customer of an industrial fabric is the fashion designer. The designer has a lot of information at his or her fingertips. With the sketches I have built, I want to forward the user-experience to the textile designer.

My sketches are surface models, drafts of garment textiles. They are meant to be tools used in the co-operation of a textile designer and a fashion designer. With the help of the sketches, discussions regarding the feel and the consistency of the fabric can be held already in the beginning of the design process and during the preparation of product development and manufacturing.
