The Department of Film and Television educates visionary artists and operators to meet the future needs of the film production and audiovisual industry. In accordance with general practice at international film schools, the BA and MA in Film and Television consists of seven areas of specialisation, which educate people to work as artists and professionals in film and other audiovisual productions.

Degree programmes in Film and Television: Documentary Filmmaking, Screenwriting, Directing, Film Editing, Cinematography, Film and Television Producing and Sound Design.

The education of visual design for production design and performing arts is based in the University of Art and Design, at the School of Motion Picture, Television and Production Design. One degree programme - degree programme in design for theatre, film and television - offers a huge variety of skills and possibilities for concentration and specialisation according to student's personal interest and study plan (PSP). Degree programme in design for theatre, film and television is the only higher education programme specialising in scenography studies in Finland.
