The Masters of Arts exhibition of Aalto University School of Art and Design is the culmination of years of study for the new Masters of Arts, as well as a joint testimony to the high level of skill and variety that enriches the school.
The exhibition takes place in the historical Elephant block. The spaces, some of which used to house offices, are now revealed to the public for the first time. After the exhibition, the City of Helsinki will renovate the block.
The exhibition consists of the thesis works of 81 fresh talents from the field of art and design. The main themes of the exhibition are the planning and tuning of the urban environment, and the future prospects for art and design. In the visual arts, 'the slow arts' will also be on display in addition to the media works: drawing, cartoons and photographs inspired by light and nature.
“The Master of Arts 2010 exhibition is an exciting adventure both for the participants and the public. A shared journey through time will take us to both the history of Helsinki and the future of art and design”, promises Marita Liulia, curator of the exhibition.
