Night story

My thesis consists of a fashion brand concept, a collection of clothes designed for this brand, and a written thesis concerning my identity as a designer and an artist.

The resulting collection is twofold: a set of wearable clothes, where looks can be transformed into a more expressive visualization by means of styling and the use of a few unique statement pieces. In a future store, the unique pieces are thought to function as a decorative installation.

The significance of apparel is related to how we look at our bodies. The expressions of the collection are meant to raise questions about the different functions of garments and their relationship with the human body. As opposed to humans, the body of a moth is plump and furry. By creating juxtaposition between the human body and body of an insect, I hope to create a fresh view on beauty. If the aesthetics of moths are projected onto the human body, will the end result be an unsightly human being?
