| Rauni Eskelinen Art Education 1982, FinlandMyytti-The Story of Väinämöinen -game
Myytti-The Story of Väinämöinen -game is a masters’ thesis of three art education graduates: Rauni Eskelinen, Riikka Notkola and Susanna Koskela. The game presents both very well known and less familiar illustrations of Väinämöinen on a wide scale. What is common to all these illustrations, is that from each illustration one can find a feature that originates in some other part of the world. For example the hat Väinämöinen is wearing in Aino-triptyykki is shown to be Swedish 18th century summer fashion. The game brings Finnish national art to be a part of everyday social being.
The game is developed in co-operation with Finnish National Gallery and it is published by Lautapelit.fi.in cooperation with Finnish National Gallery/ Central Art Archives/ Kehys. We also would like to thank Finnish Cultural Foundation, Taideteollisen korkeakoulun tukisäätiö and University of Art and Design School of Art Education for making it possible to publish Myytti.
