Banaalit laita-alueet
I am interested in creating paintings as landscapes. Paintings and landscapes have a similar structure. We look at them through ourselves. A landscape has a very broad meaning for me, encompassing not only pastoral scenes but also urban areas, contemporary sites, railway stations, demolished and abandoned buildings – places that I pass by and that pass by me in everyday life. A large part of our lives take place in surroundings and environments where design does not reach conscious design by the city limits; leafy suburbs, wastelands, tent villages, or in the utility rooms and backyards hidden behind the proud façades of houses and buildings. In banal outskirts.
