ANIMAL IN HOUSE
Statement
I am interested in boundaries and their locations in myself and the surrounding culture. My work aims to address boundaries in two ways: as entities that define both content and space. In this project, my method was to place different combinations of audiovisual stimuli, such as photographs, video, sound and three-dimensional objects in the same space. I usually employ a human-animal approach to boundaries, with people humanising animals and projecting their own feelings onto animals. Meanings attributed to animals are revealed in various belief and story traditions. Opening them up and reworking them is the focus of my artwork.
