My diploma work was a product design project commissioned by Aarikka Oy. It consists of written material and prototypes for the designed products. In the writing, I study the design history of Aarikka Oy and the changes in its brand that form an introduction to the need for product design. The idea was to complement Aarikka's product line with high-quality utility articles, and in this way, increase the brand's attractiveness to consumers. My product line includes a mortar made of ceramic and wood; a hanging ceramic pot for fresh herbs; and a linen apron and kitchen towel. I also designed their packaging. The prototypes were manufactured by Aarikka Oy, Oivi Design, Optima Industry, and Pajikom Oy.
