ADOPTION, PART II
Statement
Erika Kelter’s Master’s thesis consists of a communal work of art
called Adoption, which began during the Remix exhibition in Fiskars
from 14 May to 1 October 2006, and a written section. The exhibition
consisted of soft toys, which the exhibition visitors could adopt. The
condition for adoption was that the adopter send a picture of the
adopted toy in its new home or with its new family. The written part of
the final thesis work examines the work of art in relation to the
gallery space, the viewer, the artist, and the field of art in general.
The MOA07 exhibition displays a collage of the pictures taken by the
adopters.
