Architects with an Attitude seminar shows the power of vision and persistence
How does significant Architecture happen? On Tuesday, 22 May, Architects with an Attitude seminar will discuss the importance of vision, persistence and attitude in the creation of Architecture.
The seminar features Ali Rahim, François Roche and José Oubrerie, who has worked with Le Corbusier on most of Corbusier’s important projects and who, despite endless obstacles, completed the construction of the Saint-Pierre de Firminy church last summer, 40 years after Le Corbusier’s death and received raving critiques from international architectural community for his work. Ali Rahim is an award-winning developer of digital design and production technologies, who creates formally complex architectural forms with simple means. François Roche designs poetic, eerily beautiful buildings from discarded materials and ludic aspects of contemporary society that others overlook and despise. One of his most renowned projects is a building in Bangkok which over time becomes covered in dirt and dust from the polluted air, resulting in a beautiful, soft, cloud-like skin. The seminar is moderated by Kivi Sotamaa, the Finnish protagonist of digitally driven sensual architecture.
Come and learn about the power of attitude. Architects with an Attitude seminar takes place on May 22nd. The seminar begins at 2 p.m. in the Sampo Hall of Media Centre Lume. Reserve your place through the website . The event is free of charge.
