MoA07 Festival drew 12000 admirers of visual culture to Media Centre Lum
A natural extension of the University of Art and Design Helsinki’s
degree show, the Masters of Arts Festival has ended. The multi-faceted
MoA07 Festival drew 12000 admirers of creativity and young visual
culture to the festival exhibition in Media Centre Lume, the seminars
and other events. Other activities took place around Helsinki as well,
for instance, in the Saunabus and the premises of Stadia Helsinki
Polytechnic in Arabianranta. A number of the diploma works featured at
the festival are showcased in Masters on the Road exhibitions during
the summer and the fall - students from Konstfack will be joining with
their diploma works, too.

Guest exhibition of Estonian Academy of Arts open
The Estonian Academy of
Arts has been invited to hold the first foreign guest exhibition. The diploma
works of eleven Estonian students are showcased from May 21st onward
in the main lobby of the University
of Art and Design

Kaj Frankin katu is esplanade of works of art
Kaj
Franckin katu is a verdant promenade that extends from the University of Art
and Design Helsinki over the tram stop into the seaside. The official opening
of the street organised by The Public Works Department of the City of Helsinki is celebrated in
conjunction with the MoA Festival on Tuesday, May 22nd, at 1 p.m. The opening
ceremonies continue on the street between 6 and 8 p.m. with music, art walks
and the Saunabus.

MoA feels sporty – Arabia rowing match invites families for support!
On
Sunday, May 20th, families can cheer the teams at the Masters of
Rowing event, where ark boat teams meet head on in Vanhankaupunginlahti bay, on
the Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia side. After the rowing match you can assess the
referee work in a floating competition for rubber boats, where the new Masters
of Arts give style points to the floaters.

MoA hits Stadia on May 16th
MoA pays a visit to associate school Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia’s culture factory on Wednesday, May 16th, between 1 and 9 p.m.
Stadia has free theatrical performances, film, radio plays and dance, among other things, to offer to the audience. A memorable night can be expected as Stadia hosts Club MoA.
