The Poem of the Image – filtered and potted works of art
Innocence

My diploma work is an artistic research where I have percolated my being into poem images I have written and sculpture images I have put together. The question my research has led me to is the nature of "image ego" and "poetry ego" in my artist persona. Through re–examining the poem and the image the words that arose in my diploma work was lock, peeling, and stain. They are like glasses through which I moved next to my skin examining the reality around me.
Through my diploma work I bring my ego's image's words and my ego's word's images to a greater art context.

Biography

I studied ceramics and textile design before coming to the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Along with MA studies, I have worked at Marimekko and as a teacher. I have participated in art exhibitions, and last year Lauantaivekkari, a show on Channel 1 at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE, took an interest in my exhibition Hiusmurtumia. In addition to art, I am currently running an interactive flowerpot project which received a grant from the National Council for Design. Right now I am waiting for summer and warm weather, after a tough spell of studying!
